PREMIERE: Feel The Dizzying Highs & Lows Of Young Love In The Video For Dean Lewis’ Debut ‘Waves’

Written by Mike Hohnen on October 20, 2016

Today marks the release of the video for Dean Lewis’ soul-crushingly beautiful single Waves. And, if this song is anything to go by – which it is – this rising star is going to become a regular feature in your recently played playlists.

Waves is a story as old as time itself: The dizzying highs of young love, the immortal feeling that comes with it. The explosion of possibilities. Then the moment your heart is actually ripped from your chest when it all comes crashing down. Hey, we’ve all been there.

Armed with just his timber and steel and some gentle percussion encouragement, Waves is all about the words so, consider yourself warned – it’ll get you in the feels.

As for the video counterpart, Lewis stuck close to the narrative of the song. Featuring a young couple, the video chops and changes between now, and then giving us a 360′ view of what they once had, and what they’re left with.

What? We aren’t crying…you are.

Already, Lewis has pricked up the ears of some serious heavy hitters in the business, locking in record deals and booking agents left, right and centre. Now, he is embarking on a run of shows in support of Lisa Mitchell, so many of you are about to see first hand for yourself.
