Queens Of The Stone Age 2014 Australian Tour Plans Revealed

It appears that Queens Of The Stone Age will make their much anticipated return to our shores early next year after a tweet from triple j mag writer Samantha Clode revealed that they have plans to visit Australia after our summer festival season ends for their own headline tour.

This would rule them out of festivals such as Big Day Out, Meredith or a return to Soundwave, which they appeared at in 2011, although promoter AJ Maddah had already ruled them out last week. This would mean we will get a proper tour of their sixth studio album …Like Clockwork, which is expected to drop in Australia on Friday, 31st May.

The band unveiled a creepy new website this week to help promote the upcoming album, giving you the option to enter your phone number (for US fans only, soz) to receive a disturbing voice message. Fans brave enough to try it have had messages saying “Return. May 6th. http://www.likeclockwork.tv” as well as reports of people getting actual phone calls with possible lyrics to a new song:

‘Is there anybody out there, or am I just walking alone? What have they done? Nowhere to run, nowhere to pretend. Where are you hiding, my love? The view. from hell is blue sky. I survived, I speak, I breathe, I’ll see you real soon’.

Of the new album we’ve had the lead single, the first in 5 years, titled My God Is The Sun. The track features, not surprisingly, Dave Grohl, who is just one of many high profile collaborators on …Like Clockwork.
