Queens Of The Stone Age’s Creepy New Website Wants To Phone You

Queens Of The Stone Age have a creepy new website to help promote their upcoming album …Like Clockwork.

The site is proper thriller/slasher eerie and if you enter your phone number you’ll reportedly receive a disturbing voice message. Unfortunately the message is only available to QOTSA fans in USA but even just watching the weird demon-doll-monkey thing dial the phone is freaky enough. So far those who have entered their number have been receiving text messages saying “Return. May 6th. http://www.likeclockwork.tv” and there are even reports of people recieving phone calls with creepy messages (possibly lyrics to a new song):

“Is there anybody out there, or am I just walking alone?

What have they done? Nowhere to run, nowhere to pretend

Where are you hiding, my love? The view from hell is blue sky

I survived, I speak, I breathe, I’ll see you real soon.”

Weird. QOTSA also posted to their Facebook with the message “It Begins Monday” and a link to the new site, so we can expect the website to update on 6th May, hopefully with new videos and the like.

Last month QOTSA put out lead single, and their first single in 5 years, My God Is The Sun. The track boasts the drumming skills of Mr Grohl, who is just one of many high profile collaborators on …Like Clockwork.

Another, and more surprising, collaborator is Elton John who helped out with the yet-to-be heard track Fairweather Friends. QOTSA frontman Josh Homme explained to UK’s XFM that he couldn’t believe it when Elton gave him a call:

“I picked up and he said, ‘Hello, Josh, this is Elton.’ I thought someone was messing with me.

“He said, ‘The only thing missing from your band is an actual queen!’ I said, ‘Honey, you have no idea.’”

…Like Clockwork by Queens Of The Stone Age is due for local release on Friday, 28th June.
