Radiohead Show Cancelled Following Stage Collapse Death

Radiohead were forced to cancel their concert in Toronto, Canada last night after a stage collapse during set-up killed 1 person and injured another 3, reports the Toronto Star. The venue was not at capacity when the stage collapsed; however, there were a large number of people who had gathered early for the show.

Radiohead issued a statement via their Facebook page:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances the radiohead show at downsview park tonight has been cancelled. Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue. Refunds will be made at point of purchase. Further information is to follow.”

The Toronto police also issued a statement via Twitter:

“Radiohead concert at Downsview Park has been cancelled due to stage collapse. Asking people to stay away from immediate area…We are not confirming the number or nature of injures at this time at Downsview Park. We will provide that later when all facts are in.”
