Seriously Injured Evergreen Terrace Drummer Seeking Help With Medical Costs

Yesterday it was announced that Evergreen Terrace had pulled out of Soundwave 2015 after their drummer, Brad Moxey, sustained serious injuries from a ladder fall.

More details have now come to light about the accident by way of a GoFundMe page started by Moxey’s wife, established to raise funds for his recovery.

On the page, Moxey’s wife writes, “Brad fell 25 ft off a ladder onto a brick sidewalk while working on a house. He was knocked unconscious for over 20 minutes and unaware of where he was once his eyes opened.”

“His elbow was shattered into so many pieces they weren’t sure the extent of his injury.”

Moxey has now been released from hospital after a four hour surgery and four days recovery, but he will be unable to play the drums for months. The GoFundMe campaign is seeking $20,000 to help pay for his recovery and support the family while he is out of action.

“Brad is the main provider for our household so this will take a toll on us,” Moxey’s wife writes.

According to Evergreen Terrace’s Facebook page, “He’s uninsured with a baby on the way.” The bands adds, “We are all in shock.”

In just a few days, donations from over 100 people have raised $5,558, over a quarter of the way towards the goal.

The band has continued to announce tour dates this week, but it is unknown whether or not Moxey will be drumming with them. They have just been announced as part of Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest (alongside Australia’s Parkway Drive), they’re due to announce their first US tour in over a year this week, and are also set to play a show at SXSW in March.

Evergreen Terrace were set to headline Soundwave Festival’s Stage 5 on Slipknot day. No replacement has been announced for the band’s festival slot, though promoter AJ Maddah has suggested that other Stage 5 acts could instead play longer sets.
