Are The Smith Street Band Dropping Their New Album On Valentines Day?

UPDATE 14/02/17: The Smith Street Band have now announced a new album, and have dropped its lead single, ‘Birthdays’.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Smith Street Band are teasing us with a Valentines Day surprise.

The Aussie accent-flaunting punks have sent fans a special greeting card in the post, which contains the cryptic message:

“Hello!

Happy Birthdays for February 14th!

Lots of Love,

The Smith Street Band”

The card also features the hashtag #tssbbirthdays and links to the website birthdays.net.au, which features only the aforementioned date of 14.2.17.

Could Birthdays be the title of the band’s new album, dropping on February 14th? (i.e. this freakin’ Tuesday?!?) The lads did recently reveal that they’d finished recording their new LP and would be releasing it in early 2017, after all.

Guess we’ll soon find out.

ICYMI: Smith Street’s latest single Death to the Lads came in at #21 in the 2016 Hottest 100. We can only hope this mysterious new clue means at least 10 more new tunes will be hot on its heels.

Music Feeds has contacted The Smith Street Band for more info on their mailbox teaser, but in the meantime, you can have a crack at figuring out what it actually means by having a gander below.
