Steve Buscemi To Direct Vampire Weekend Live Stream

Steve Buscemi and Vampire Weekend‘s love affair is set to continue – the Boardwalk Empire actor will be directing a live stream of the band’s performance for the debut of the fourth season of American Express Unstaged.

The performance will be live streamed from the closing night of the Tribeca Film Festival at Roseland Ballroom on Sunday, 28th April, as part of the Unstaged series, which teams up iconic popular musical artists with renowned film directors. Brooklyn-born Buscemi is no stranger to directing, having four feature films and episodes of shows like The Sopranos and 30 Rock under his belt.

This follows yesterday’s news that Buscemi covered Vampire Weekend’s latest single Diane Young during the New York Easter Parade, and last week’s Twitter revelation that bassist Chris Baio is in fact a distant cousin of Buscemi.

We’ll wait with bated breath for news of a collaborative album between the fellow New Yorkers. In the meantime, Vampire Weekend release their third album, Modern Vampires Of The City, on 13th May, after being forced to delay its release by a week due to “unanticipated delays in the production of physical copies of the record”.

You can check out Vampire Weekend’s Unstaged performance at www.amexunstaged.com on Monday, 29th April at 11am AEST.
