Electro bash Subsonic has announced its 2017 dates.
The three-day dance-o-rama will be hitting NSW’s Riverwood Downs on the first weekend of December, trotting out a jaw-dropping 180 local and international artists across five pumping stages.
Running from Friday, 1st December – Sunday, 3rd December, the 72-hour bush doof promises to showcase “the finest ambient, reggae, acoustic, world, techno, house, bass, hip-hop and electro-punk music” alongside “mind-bending art installations”, market stalls and “esoteric activities like Shiatsu, Acro Yoga, Sacred Geometry, daily meditation, and even a creative space for the little ones in [the] Subsonic Lifestyle Village”.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am with our plans for our 9th year of Subsonic,” says founder Scott Commens. “A modification on the DA has been submitted to the local Council with plans for some great new additions to the festival and the staff at Subsonic have hit the ground running with spirits running high.
“Artists and agents have been super receptive which has helped us to secure a world class lineup which I am sure will exceed all expectations,” he continues. “And our first round of artist announcements is just around the corner. We’ll be dropping 1 artist per hour via the official Subsonic Music Facebook & Instagram pages starting at 9am next Tuesday March 28.”
Police previously cast doubts on the future of Subsonic following a huge number of drug arrests at last year’s event, but it seems like it’s all systems go for 2017.
In fact, tickets are on sale now. We’ll update you with the first lineup announcement as it drops.
