After much deliberation, Supafest organisers have announced that they will be defying the critics, and indeed their crippling debt, and returning for 2013. Last year wasn’t such a great time for the event, but it looks as though they’re feeling pretty confident this time round.
We can’t tell you much more detail than that, unfortunately. A post from the event’s official Facebook that popped up this evening and clearly states that announcements will be coming soon, and that “Anzac Weekend will be HUGE this 2013….get ready!!!”
Last year, the event took place mid-April, which means that they will need to get cracking if they want it to take off in 2013.
The festival has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this year. At the start of the month it was brought to everyone’s attention that Superfest had gone into administration on account of the $2 million debt incurred from the 2012 festival, but it was also revealed that should the creditors want their money back, then more festivals will need to happen in the future.
Around that time, John Denison, who is believed to be an ex-partner of the brand, firmly stated that there will be a line-up in February, which leaves just days for the announcement – hang tight.
