The Temper Trap To Perform At AFL Grand Final?

Triple M have speculated that popular Australian indie band The Temper Trap will be providing the half-time entertainment at this year’s upcoming AFL Grand Final, which takes place on September 29. The news arose from Triple M’s Mick Molloy, who claimed (perhaps in a joking manner) that the performance would rival the half-time theatrics of the Super Bowl.

“This is what I’ve heard. I believe there will be half time entertainment, there will be a performance by the band Temper Trap,” Molloy said, “Temper Trap will be performing at half time at the AFL in scenes reminiscent of the NFL in America!”

It’s been a big year for The Temper Trap, with the band releasing their second LP earlier in 2012. The five-piece from Melbourne also performed at this year’s Vivid LIVE festival, but unfortunately had their sets cancelled at triple j’s One Night Stand and more recently Lollapalooza, both due to weather conditions.
