The (Kanye) West Wing? Bound 2 Be President? Jesus Walks (into the Oval Office)?
Kanye West reached critical levels of Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards yesterday, veering off in the middle of a sprawling “bro” laden diatribe to randomly announce plans to run for President of the United States.
Naturally, the internet collectively shat itself, producing enough hilarious #Yeezy2020 and Kardashians-in-the-White-House memes to fuel Air Force One on the power of lols alone.
And speaking of Air Force One, that’s exactly where White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was travelling, alongside current Commander In Chief Barrack Obama, where he saw fit to respond to Yeezy’s political aspirations with an official statement.
Earnest told the Associated Press that he looks “forward to seeing what slogan [Kanye] chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.”
Well, needless to say internet has produced no shortage of suggested options in the less-than-24-hours since #Yeezy2020 became a thing. Check out some of our favourite Kanye-for-prez memes so far, below.
