UNIFY – A Heavy Music Gathering sold out this year for the second consecutive time, leaving punters from all over thirsty for more.
Shortly after the it wrapped up, festival organisers issued a statement saying that UNIFY Gathering would return in 2017, and would be “bigger and better” than ever.
Now, in true UNIFY style, the festival website has just been updated with a countdown, with the UNIFY Facebook page confirming that it is indeed a countdown to 9am on Tuesday, 21st June. While no other details have been provided, there’s speculation that the date could signal the unveiling of the 2017 lineup which is being “booked as we speak”.
The countdown features, of all things, Da Rude‘s Sandstorm. While it might not be because the speed-dealer-sunny-wearing public’s festival favourite will be one of the first named on the lineup for the heavy music festival when it drops, stranger things have happened.
The event has quickly become a cult favourite with Australia’s most dedicated heavy music fans, this year featuring 19 bands across two days and a crowd five thousand-strong. Highlights from this year’s festival included Hellions, In Hearts Wake, and Parkway Drive.
