Violent Soho have told ticket scalpers to kindly “fuck off” after they began selling tickets to their latest tour for prices upwards of $200.
The tickets, which are retailing for around $60, basically sold like hot cakes with two shows in Melbourne and Brisbane sold out as well as one in Sydney. The first Melbourne show sold-out in less than ten minutes.
Hungry to make a little cash off the Soho’s success, scalpers took to ebay and Gumtree trying to flog tickets at an inflated price but the band weren’t having any of it.
“We just wanted to address this publicly as a band and tell those people to kindly Fuck Off,” they wrote on Facebook.
“We as a band always try to keep our ticket prices as cheap as possible and the WACO tour is no exception.”
This is a massive tour for Violent Soho who are gearing up for the release of their new album WACO. “It’s not only extremely offensive to us it devalues everything we as a band are trying to do,” the band said about those who jump online at 9am to grab tickets with no intention of actually going themselves.
The boys asked for fans to share the post and said they’re looking into adding new shows to the tour. The post has now been shared nearly 17,00 times. It also gave people a chance to try out Facebook’s new angry reaction to posts.
At the time of writing, there are many people looking for a ticket on Gumtree with just a handful selling tickets, most for around the $85 mark. It’s a slightly inflated price but nowhere near the $200 the band spoke of in their post. Maybe people are hearing their warning.
