Violent Soho Are Back: Aussie Rock Heroes Announce First Shows In 4 Years

HELL FUCK YEAH – Violent Soho are officially BACK.

After a four-year hiatus, the Brisbane legends have announced a very special run of east coast headline shows this September – their first time on stage together since stepping away in 2022. And yeah… it’s already shaping up to be one of the most emotional (and chaotic) returns we’ve seen in a hot minute.

Violent Soho – ‘Covered in Chrome’

Kicking off at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday 11 September, the run then hits Melbourne’s Forum on Friday 18 September before wrapping with a massive hometown show at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday 25 September. Joining them across all dates are fellow Brissy faves Beddy Rays, with Teenage Joans opening in Sydney and Secret World jumping on the Melbourne show.

If the timing feels right, that’s because it kinda is. The announcement follows the 10-year anniversary of WACO – aka one of the most iconic Aussie rock records of the 2010s – plus a cheeky on-stage cameo from members James Tidswell and Luke Boerdam alongside Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus at the Sydney Opera House last month that had fans spiralling (correctly, as it turns out).

As for why now? The band kept it simple: “Some dudes play golf, we play in a band… and we missed making noise together.”

After nearly two decades of grinding – ARIA #1 albums, Hottest 100 anthems, sold-out tours and a reputation as one of the country’s most feral (in the best way) live acts – Violent Soho hit pause in 2022. But crucially, they never said goodbye.

“When we took a break, we said ‘Until next time’… and now feels like that time.”

And if you’ve ever been in a Soho crowd, you already know what’s coming. Sweat. Chaos. Wall-to-wall singalongs. That very specific kind of Aussie rock catharsis that hits like a truck and leaves you grinning like an idiot.
