Watch: Dune Rats Take On DZ Deathrays, Smoke A Fuckload Of Bongs in ‘Red Light Green Light’

Written by Marc Zanotti on January 30, 2013

Dune Rats have made good on their promise to recreate DZ Deathrays’ music video The Mess Up, the Brisbane band replacing Jäger shots with bong hits in the second clip for their single Red Light Green Light.

To give a little backstory, Dune Rats posted on their Facebook page on 14th January that if 1000 people Liked the post, they’d shoot a clip in response to DZ Deathrays’. However, while DZ downed repeated shots, Dune Rats promised to punch as many cones as possible for the duration of their tune.

Well, the lads got the Likes and stayed true to their word. Smoking more bongs than you’d care to count, Dunes Rats’ BC and Danny go for broke, with Danny only occasionally pausing to sing a couple of lyrics here and there.

Post clip, the lads have a crack at being interviewed by DZ’s Simon Ridley, which eventually breaks down into conversations about porno sites. Check out the clips and have a laugh while you can – Dune Rats posted an image of YouTube notification that the Red Light Green Light (Green Version) clip might have a limited lifespan online.
