Tubular Music & Arts Festival Expands Lineup: The Jezabels, Dune Rats + More

Tubular, a brand new music and arts festival set to hit the Central Coast this November, has added The Jezabels and Dune Rats to its already packed lineup. The ten-day festival boasts musician Ngaiire and sound designer Ben Pierpont as Artistic Directors.

Together, the pair have brought an unusual and welcome approach to festival curation, expanding Tubular beyond just music. For instance, the festival boasts pop-up art exhibitions and workshops, in addition to the music. Find more details below.

The Jezabels – ‘The Others’

Taking place across 12 varied venues, from pubs to clubs to outdoor settings, the festival is all based around the theme of “Sunrise.” The Jezabels, Dune Rats, You Am I, Tijuana Cartel, Winterbourne and Ella Powell are all set to play, with the Rats taking over Drifters Wharf, a well-known Central Coast venue.

There’ll be a music masterclass with Nick Findlay, the Music Director of triple j; a panel event for ukulele obsessives; a Brazillian drum, dance, sing workshop; an event on electronic music production; and, perhaps most exciting of all, ‘Fade Into You’, a series of evenings celebrating women in music, led by singer-songwriter Gordi.

All in all, Tubular is an exciting new event on Australia’s cultural calendar. If you’re thinking that there are a lot of those these days, then you’re right – after a significant economic downturn, post-COVID, arts organisers are in a better position to take the gamble and start up new events.

So, make sure you support them. If Tubular sounds like your thing, buy tickets, and buy tickets early – industry experts have noted that punters are buying tickets closer to events than ever before, which creates some risk for organisers.
