Watch: Franz Ferdinand Perform New Song and Cover Donna Summer

Written by Marc Zanotti on May 22, 2012

Diffuser have reported that Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have taken time to pay tribute to the recently passed soul songstress Donna Summer, while also unveiling some new songs.

New tracks titled Right Thoughts (or possibly Riot Thoughts – there’s conflicting reports) , Brief Encounters, Fresh Strawberries and Trees and Animals were all tested out on fans during a gig in Limerick, Ireland. The fresh tunes will feature on Franz Ferdinand’s upcoming, currently untitled LP, which is slated for release later in 2012.

The tribute to Donna Summer came by way of a shortened version of I Feel Love, with a bit of Franz Ferdinand jamming mixed in for good measure.
