Yep, There’s A Petition To Erect A Huge Statue Of Flume In Sydney

Flume (or Harley Edward Streten to his mum) may be only be 25 years old, but there’s been a call to immortalise him in statue form in his hometown of Sydney.

A cheeky Change.org petition has been launched by the crew at Aussie music blog Stoney Roads, calling on the Northern Beaches and Warringah councils to erect a statue of Flume smack bang in front of Manly Wharf.

“Manly is home to Australia’s finest electronic music export, Flume,” the petition says.

“It just makes sense that the Grammy winning artist is immortalised on the wharf, right? Flume has released two studio albums and numerous EPs since bursting onto the electronic music scene, and has become an ambassador of Aus dance music.

“If anyone deserves to be sculptured, it’s Flume!”

The petition’s creators have also come up with two possible designs so far — a Grammy-centric one (above) and a more “beachy” one (below).

It’s still unclear if the proposed statues would feature Flume’s long-lost moustache, which he recently said he’s considering bringing back, but either way it would be a sight to behold.

Flume is yet to respond to the petition, but we’ll let you know if he does.

Fellow Aussie music icon Nick Cave also had a huge memorial proposed in his hometown earlier this year.
