Triple j have unveiled the set times and map for their upcoming 40th anniversary birthday concert Beat The Drum which boasts an all-star Australian line-up. The event will be held in Sydney’s Domain on January 16th, as part of the Sydney Festival program.
Gates will open at 4:00pm and the first headline set will be provided by Brisbane rockers Ball Park Music. They’ll be followed by Vance Joy, The Preatures, You Am I, The Cat Empire and The Presets while the night will close with a set by Australian hip hop vanguards Hilltop Hoods.
The celebrations will feature DJ sets by triple j hosts Nina Las Vegas and KLP as well as special guest appearances from the likes of Courtney Barnett, Gotye, Daniel Johns, Tkay Maidza, Remi and more, who will be jumping onstage for some live collaborations and surprise, one-off team-ups.
Tickets to the free event have sold out but triple j will be broadcasting Beat The Drum live. As part of their 40th birthday celebrations, triple j has also announced a TV documentary exploring the stations’s history, a free exhibition and some very special radio content.
