Following on from their successful collab with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as part of 2015’s Melbourne Festival, Flight Facilities are set to get funky with the philharmonic once again.
This time, the Aussie electro duo are teaming up with Sydney Symphony Orchestra for a massive concert event in September.
Taking place at The Domain as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender, the one-off event will see the fellas performing alongside the acclaimed 50 piece SSO with some “very special guests” joining them under the stars and “a few surprises along the way”.
Flight Facilities will be presenting orchestral arrangements of their deep catalogue of singles, alongside hits from their monster 2014 debut LP Down To Earth.
The electro wizards are the first official act announced for Sydney’s 2016 Red Bull Music Academy Weekender, a globally-renowned, four-day city takeover and curatorial festival program featuring 40 artists across 12 signature events.
It’s being curated by trusted taste-purveyors, Crown Ruler’s Jamie Bennett and Goodgod’s Jimmy Sing, with the full lineup due to drop in June.
In the meantime, tickets to Fight Facilities’ show with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra go on sale from Thursday, 28th April at 9am.
