American power metal band MANOWAR have issued a statement in response to their guitarist Karl Logan’s shock arrest on child porn charges, revealing that they will be, at least temporarily, cutting ties with their longtime member.
The 53-year-old axeman has since been released on bail after being collared by North Carolina police and charged with six counts of possessing child pornography.
But at least for the immediate future, he will not be returning to the stage with the veteran metal band, who have shared their response to the incident on Twitter.
“Regarding Karl Logan. With regard to Karl Logan’s arrest and the charges against him: Due to the fact that Karl and his attorneys are dealing with these issues, he will not perform with MANOWAR,” their statement reads. “The new album and upcoming tour will not be affected. Magic Circle Entertainment.”
MANOWAR are currently in the middle of their farewell world tour, and only recently asked Australian fans to help make a local tour happen.
However, their vague statement has not been received well with a number of fans, who’ve accused MANOWAR of leaving the door open for Logan to return to the fold once his legal troubles have been dealt with:

You could also say that all the members repudiate these charges and this is unacceptable but it would be too much, ay?

You cannot unite the warriors of the world behind you with such a slight reaction. Show the world you are the men of honor!

I think you guys need to make a stronger statement condemning pedophilia whether or not he is found guilty. Take a stand. Some things are more important than a tour or album

If this should be the truth, it’s simply unacceptable. I also expect a stronger Statement from the band.

Logan, who joined Manowar in 1994, had his bail set at $35,000, but has since been bonded out.
