New Guns N’ Roses Music Could Legitimately Be Coming In 2019

Looks like we won’t only be getting a new Guns N’ Roses album from the reunited semi-OG lineup… but it’ll be arriving “faster than we think”.

Guitarist Richard Fortus has updated fans on the hotly rumoured reunion record, which would mark the first GNR LP to feature seminal trio Slash, Duff and Axl Rose in 26 years.

Now that the reunited bandmates have wrapped up their monstrous three-year Not In This Lifetime world tour, second guitarist Fortus has confirmed to St. Louis radio station KSHE that they’ll now be turning their full attention to a new album.

“We are going to try to do another record and get it out soon,” Fortus revealed.

After the host remarked, “I hope it’s good,” Fortus responded: “How could it not be, though? The band’s so great right now.”

Many fans are understandably cynical about the likelihood of receiving a new GNR album any time soon, in light of Axl’s notoriously slow turnaround on Chinese Democracy, but Fortus nonetheless reckons the reunion album “will happen faster than you think”, and adds that we could even see a new song land in 2019 (!!!)

“It could definitely happen,” he confirms. “…I think Axl’s got a lot to write about.”

As far as new material goes, Fortus mentioned, “there might be stuff started”.

A hypothetical new record would mark the band’s first album since 2008’s infamous Chinese Democracy, LP, which didn’t involve OGs Slash or Duff and took frontman Axl Rose a mere 15 years to record.

The last GNR album to feature Slash and Duff was 1993’s punk covers LP The Spaghetti Incident.

Earlier this year, Gunners re-issued their legendary 1987 debut Appetite For Destruction with an insane 73 tracks, but kicked up some controversy by axing the offensive lyric-stuffed tune ‘One In A Million’.

While we wait for more news on a hypothetical new Gunners album, you can take a listen to Slash’s brand new track with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators below, and catch them touring Australia in January.
