MySpace Cooks It, Reportedly Loses Music Uploaded Before 2015

Grown-up emo kids across the globe are crying like their little sister stole their favourite eyeliner pencil because Myspace has just admitted to royally fucking up and losing 12 years worth of music.

As the BBC reports, any audio uploaded to the site before 2015 could now no longer be streamable due to a technical issue.

“As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos, and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from MySpace,” the former largest music-sharing platform in the world wrote in a statement, reported by the British broadcaster. “We apologise for the inconvenience.”

We are NOT OKAY.

Andy Baio, who helped build crowd-funding site Kickstarter, has tweeted that the loss could amount to some 50 million tracks, by 14 million artists:

Nothing to do now but jam some Short Stack and weep.
