Turns Out Childish Gambino’s Film ‘Guava Island’ Might Actually Be A Visual Album

Aussie Childish Gambino fans have been on a truly wild rollercoaster of emotions as of late. He had to cancel his Australian tour late last year, with the extra blow of no postponed dates, only for him to be announced as one of this year’s Splendour In The Grass headliners.

NOW, they may have even more to smile for. Gambino – Donald Glover – premiered the trailer for some sort of visual called Guava Island at his Pharos Festival in New Zealand late last year, and now fans are speculating that it might actually be a visual album.

As reported by Stereogum, ads have started appearing for Guava Island, with something being released on the night of Saturday, 13th April – which is the same weekend as his first performance headlining Coachella. The links for the ads link back to Spotify’s iconic Rap Caviar playlist, which has fans thinking new music has to be coming.

Not much is known about the film/visual album/whatever it is, besides the fact that Rihanna is involved. If it is a visual album, then this will also be the first bout of new music from RiRi in bloody yonks.

Stay calm and wait for next weekend, looks like we’ll be eatin’ good.
