Vampire Weekend Have The Best Performing Rock Album Of 2019 So Far

It may have been a long time between albums for Vampire Weekend, but their fans certainly don’t love the band any less as their latest album is the most successful rock album of the year thus far.

The band has scored their third consecutive #1 album in the US with Father Of The Bride, after both 2010’s Contra and 2013’s Modern Vampires Of The City achieved the same thing.

According to Billboard, the album moved 138,000 equivalent album units last week, and 119,000 of those were in pure album sales. Both of those results make Father Of The Bride the most successful rock album of the year so far.

It’s the biggest rock debut on the US charts since Mumford & Sons’ 2018 album Delta.

As for Australia, Father Of The Bride debuted at #8, with P!nk’s Hurts 2B Human claiming the top spot once again.
