Brisbane pop angel Mallrat is keeping her incredible momentum going, having just announced a brand new EP. On top of that, she’s given us an absolutely stunning new single with ‘Charlie’ and we can promise it’ll be on repeat for months.
‘Charlie’ is the first track taken from Mallrat’s six-track-EP Driving Music. This EP serves as the follow up to last year’s In The Sky EP, which spawned hits like ‘Better’ and ‘Groceries’, the latter of which made it to #7 on Triple J’s 2018 Hottest 100.
On top of releasing the track, Mallrat has also treated us to the video for ‘Charlie’. Directed by Tim Hardy, who also directed the video for Mallrat’s track with Cub Sport ‘Video’, the clip is exactly the sort of lush, warm breeze we’ve come to expect from the singer. On top of that, the video also features Mallrat’s Dad and the song’s namesake, her pet labrador Charlie.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see Mallrat live either. She’s just been announced on a stack of festivals around the new year, and is about to embark on a giant nationwide tour with Allday.
