FKA Twigs Announces New Album, ‘Magdalene’

FKA twigs has finally revealed some new details about her highly anticipated follow-up to 2014’s LP1, and the release of her gorgeous single from earlier this year – ‘Cellophane’.

In a new interview with i-D Magazine, twigs revealed that her sophomore LP will be titled Magdalene. She also revealed some juicy info about some collaborators, saying that Nicolas Jaar co-produced the album and there’s a track that features rapper Future.

She gave some details as to how the Future feature, titled ‘Holy Terrain’, came about.

“He texted back right away and I was like [throws her phone onto the sofa], ‘Oh my god, he’s just messaged me back!’ she said.

“He’s such a sweetheart. I sent him the album and I called him up and was like, ‘Listen, Future… this is what my album’s about. It’s a really empowering, sensitive record, with a lot of feminine energy, and this song is probably the most fun track on it, but I still need lyrical content’.”

You can read the full interview here, where she also discusses having surgery to remove multiple tumours from her uterus.

Magdalene is scheduled for release this spring. Watch the video for ‘Cellophane’ below.
