Lime Cordiale Reveal New Single & Video ‘Addicted To The Sunshine’

Lime Cordiale have today unveiled a brand new single. ‘Addicted to the Sunshine’ is a summer-y soundtrack to a day at the beach but it has a deeper message about the climate crisis and the need for action.

They’ve released a film clip alongside it too. It was directed by Lime Cordiale’s long-time director, Jack Shepherd. The clip sees the Lime boys play scientists from Planet B who land in Australia, only to find people enjoying the beach in the sun, while the world is burning around them.

‘Addicted to the Sunshine’ premiered on triple j Breakfast. During the premiere, the Leimbach brothers said of the track, “We’ve already heard people call Addicted to The Sunshine a very ‘Summery’ song (and they’re not wrong) but with the sunshine comes a little darkness as well.”

“In Australia, we love the sun. We love our sunny Summer activities. We love sun-baking, swimming and feeling the need for a selfie in front of a waterfall. The sun is our creator, it’s our life source and we’re addicted to it but we’re letting it destroy us.

“It’s heating the planet and we’re cooking. This song is about getting up off our towels and changing bad habits. We need to consume less, offset our shitty actions and respect the sunshine and environment that we love.”

Lime Cordiale have also teamed up with FEAT, a renewable energy organisation to invest in renewable solutions. You can read up on FEAT here.

They’ve also teamed up with MadeInHemp to make an exclusive hemp t-shirt, 100 per cent of the profits will go to FEAT.

Lime Cordiale cleaned up during the Hottest 100 of 2019. They charted four times with Robbery at #7, Inappropriate Behaviour at #13, I Touch Myself (Like A Version) at #17 and Money at #32
