WAAX Announce Rescheduled ‘Big Grief’ National Tour Dates

In a parallel universe, WAAX would be kicking off their national Big Grief album launch tour this weekend with a pair of shows in Fremantle. That tour has, along with everything else right now, been put on hold in respect to social distancing measures introduced in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.

It’s not all doom and gloom, however, with the Brisbane punks sharing rescheduled Aussie tour dates for October and November of this year.

The band will no longer be making their way to Geelong, Dee Why, Chelsea Heights or Byron Bay, although there are new shows in Adelaide, Kingscliff, Towradgi and Belgrave. They’ll be joined as planned on the run by Bugs, along with Semantics.

“Knowing we have a gig date in future is getting us through. I can’t wait to cry and yell with you all,” commented the band.

Original tickets will be valid for the new dates – with the exception of Geelong and Dee Why, which will be refunded. Tickets for the Chelsea Heights show will now be valid for the Croxton Bandroom date, while Byron Bay ticketholders will now have entry to the Kingscliff show.

Earlier this month, the band encouraged fans to hold onto their tickets, saying, “Our industry ecosystem is completely upended. PLEASE do your bit and hang onto your tickets for the new dates. It is more important than ever to realise how important this is to the acts and our industry’s future.”

That said, refunds are still available from now until Sunday, 26th April if you can’t make it work.
