Triple J’s ‘Like A Version’ Covers Will Be Made Available On Vinyl This Record Store Day

Triple J have only relatively recently made ‘Like A Version‘ covers available on streaming services, but soon you’ll be able to cop them on that sweet vinyl as part of Record Store Day 2020.

Seven covers of ‘Like A Version’ past will be made available on their own vinyl, with Side B being the original track each artist performed in the studio as well.

The records include:

  • Alex Lahey (‘Welcome To The Black Parade’/’Misery Guts’)
  • Angus & Julia Stone (‘Passionfruit’/’Chateau’)
  • FIDLAR (‘Xanny’/’By Myself’)
  • Flume (‘My Boo’/’Never Be Like You’)
  • Ocean Alley (‘Baby Come Back/’Confidence’)
  • Vance Joy (‘Elastic Heart’/’We’re Going Home’)

The only outlier here is Denzel Curry, whose history making ‘Like A Version’ cover of ‘Bulls On Parade’ will not be paired with his original performance (2018’s ‘Black Balloons’) but will instead be paired with another cover – his version of Bad Brains’ ‘I Against I’.

The records will be available from Saturday, 29th August, but the catch is that you’ll have to contact your local participating record store beforehand to secure an order. You can head to Record Store Day’s official Australian website to learn what stores near you are participating.

This will be the first of three instalments of Record Store Day this year, with the next being on Saturday, 26th September.
