Corey Taylor’s New Video For ‘Samantha’s Gone’ Features A ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star, Steel Panther And More

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor dropped his debut solo record CMFT last year, and he’s now shared a video for album track ‘Samantha’s Gone’ that features some familiar faces.

The DJay Brawner-directed video features Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, actor Dean Cameron of Summer School fame and parody glam-rock band Steel Panther.

The ‘Samantha’s Gone’ clip sees Sandoval star as the frontman of an indie-rock group shooting a video for the track, delivering an over-the-top, flamboyant performance that doesn’t get the approval from director and crew (Cameron and Steel Panther). Naturally, Taylor and his band step in to replace them, but they don’t end up being up to scratch for Cameron either, who ultimately requests Steel Panther do the job.

“The video for ‘Samantha’s Gone’ served two purposes: making fun of so-called ‘indie rock’ bands and getting all my friends together to hang out and have a good time,” commented Taylor.

“We all went back and forth between having fun and social distancing. Watching the first ‘band’ was great, then being fired from our OWN song in favor of Steel Panther was the icing on the cake.”
