Billie Eilish Shares Scorching Kiss-Off ‘Lost Cause’ Alongside Self-Directed Video

Billie Eilish has shared another new single from forthcoming sophomore record Happier Than Ever ahead of its arrival next month.

‘Lost Cause’ is a pretty scorching kiss-off, which sees Eilish address a former partner above a fairly sparse backdrop that relies heavily on its snaking bass line, and understated beats and synths.

I used to think you were shy / But maybe you just had nothing on your mind / Maybe you were thinkin’ ’bout yourself all the time,” Eilish smoothly croons on the track’s second verse.

‘Lost Cause’ arrives alongside a music video directed by Eilish herself which sees her and a group of friends throwing a house party. Check that out below.

‘Lost Cause’ is the fourth single Eilish has released thus far from Happier Than Ever, following on from ‘My Future’ and ‘Therefore I Am’ in 2020 and ‘Your Power’ back in April. The album, largely recorded last year, features no outside writers or producers apart from her brother and frequent collaborator Finneas, and is set to arrive on July 30.

“This is my favorite thing I’ve ever created and I am so excited and nervous and eager for you to hear it,” Eilish wrote on Instagram when announcing Happier Than Ever earlier this year. “I’ve never felt so much love for a project than I do for this one. Hope you feel what I feel.”
