Splendour XR expands with lineup reveals for The Forum, Global Village and more

Splendour XR is mere weeks away from kicking off, people!

Taking place later in July, fans will have the opportunity to beam performances from some of the world’s best artists direct into their homes, with the ability to recreate their own Splendour In The Grass experience (sans long toilet queues and tents) thanks to state of the art XR technology.

But, as the. countdown to Splendour In The Grass’ first-ever virtual festival winds down, the crew behind the event prove today that they’ve still got some goods up their sleeves.

While Splendour XR is bringing performances from the likes of The Killers, Grimes, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and more this year, the virtual festival will also be hosting a plethora of discussions, comedy, DJ sets and entertainment for the little ones. That’s right: The Forum, Global Village, Comedy Club, Tipi Forest and Little Splendour are back in the mix!

Like any IRL version of Splendour In The Grass, Splendour XR is remaining committed to delivering a wide range of options for their punters to get amongst.

The Forum this year will host some provocative and engaging discussions centred on topics like mental health, consent, AI bias, the future of drugs, and more. Delivering a special keynote speech at The Forum this year is 2021 Australian of the Year, Grace Tame, while other speakers on The Forum’s lineup this year includes WAFIA, Kira Puru, 360, Marieke Hardy and Dr Karl.

Some of Australia’s favourite funny people are joining in on the Splendour XR fun too, with The Comedy Club set to host sets from comedians including Nazeem Hussain, Nath Valvo, Kirsty Webeck, Anne Edmonds, Tom Ballard and more.

The Global Village is still the place you can hit up to get your chill dose in between acts on the main stages; storytelling, yoga, meditation and more will be able to guide you through Splendour XR with ease.

Over at the Tipi Forest, producers and DJ’s will be slinging beats and vibes throughout Splendour XR; local talent including April Kerry, Skram, and Hypnotech ready to soundtrack some epic lighting shows by Spectacle Art and VJ visuals courtesy of Just Chuck, John Carolan and Eyebyte.

And for the kids, Little Splendour XR brings some of Australia’s best children’s entertainers to the party because let’s be real, why should the youngest punters miss out? There’ll be drumming and craft sessions along with music, not to mention opportunities to learn about the environment. You can check its full program out here.

Tickets are still on sale for Splendour XR, starting at just $25.99 for a single day pass. It’s an absolute steal, given you’ll be able to have access to the content through video on demand for a full week after the event.
