Ed Sheeran’s New Album Is Dedicated To Michael Gudinski & He’s Shared ‘Visiting Hours’

Ed Sheeran has finally spilled all the deets on his new album =. Alongside that though, he’s released ‘Visiting Hours’, the song he wrote for and performed at Michael Gudinski’s state funeral.

The new album is due for release Friday, 29th October and Sheeran reckons he started working on it in 2017.

“It’s been a long, long process,” he wrote on Instagram, announcing the album. “I’ve been through love, loss, new life, grief and everything in between during the whole period of writing it, and I feel like it’s really a coming of age record.

“I’ve never been more proud of a body of work, or more excited/nervous for you all to hear it.”

Alongside the album announcement, he shared his newest song. ‘Visiting Hours’ is a real tear jerker.

It’s the song Ed Sheeran wrote for and performed at Michael Gudinski’s state funeral in March this year.

“The next song off of it is called ‘Visiting Hours’, which I finished for my friend Michael who sadly passed away this year,” Sheeran wrote.

“I finished writing this song going through proper grief for the first time, and for me it’s one of the most important songs on =.”

Gudinski’s good mates and some of his favourite musicians, Kylie Minogue and Jimmy Barnes feature on the song too.
