RÜFÜS DU SOL Finally Announce New Album, SURRENDER

RÜFÜS DU SOL have shared details of their long awaited follow up album to 2018’s Solace.

The album, titled SURRENDER, which is set to be released on Friday, 22nd October, has already been teased with recent releases ‘Alive’ and ‘Next To Me’. From those two tastes, we’re getting to know the type of music RÜFÜS DU SOL are making…and it’s good.

Today, the trio has dropped the third single from SURRENDER: ‘On My Knees’.

The Grammy nominated group have drawn darker influences from the likes of Trent Reznor on their latest effort, adding a haunting ambience to Tyrone Lindqvist’s already captivating vocals.

SURRENDER was written by RÜFÜS DU SOL in Los Angeles, separated from their families on the other side of the globe. The video for ‘On My Knees’ was also filmed in the U.S., captured at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

The venue was home for RÜFÜS DU SOL for two nights – ‘On My Knees’ caught the group during rehearsal, under the creative direction of Alex ‘Katzki’ George and animation director Ruff Mercy (Thom Yorke, Run The Jewels).

“For this song we had a lot of fun writing something that was darker, driving and a little more edgy,” James Hunt has said of ‘On My Knees’.

“It’s definitely one of the most banging tracks on the record – we referenced some of our favourite club music for the drum programming and had fun envisioning the time when we could finally play this live. It had an amazing reaction at our Red Rocks shows last month which was really special for us.”
