Harry Styles Is Reportedly Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe

A journalist caught the premiere of the Chloé Zhao Eternals in Los Angeles earlier this week and spilled the beans on a surprising inclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Variety’s Matt Donnelly tweeted on Tuesday (October 19) that none other than Harry Styles would be joining the MCU in the role of Eros (otherwise known as Starfox), the brother of villain Thanos.

While Styles doesn’t technically feature in The Eternals as a character, he reportedly appears during the film’s post-credit scene, which was shown during the premiere on Monday. It’s unclear whether Styles’ appearance as Eros marks a one-off or whether the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer will play a bigger role in the future.

Styles has slowly been dipping his toe into the world of film in recent years. He appeared as Alex in Christopher Nolan’s World War II flick Dunkirk back in 2017, and next year, he’ll star alongside Florence Pugh in Don’t Worry Darling, a psychological thriller directed by Olivia Wilde. Styles will also star in the lead role of My Policeman, an adaptation of Bethan Roberts’ 2012 novel.

Meanwhile, Eternals is set to premiere in Australia next Friday, 28th October. The 26th film in the MCU, it will feature an ensemble cast that includes Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie and more. Watch a trailer below.
