Cog are releasing their discography on vinyl for the first time and they’ve announced a 2024 national tour to celebrate. The vinyl reissue campaign will include both of the Sydney alt-metal trio’s studio albums – 2005’s The New Normal and 2008’s Sharing Space – as well as a compilation of the band’s first two EPs titled Just Visiting.
The accompanying tour kicks off on Friday, 1st March at Northcote Theatre, Melbourne. From there, Cog will travel to Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle and Canberra, before finishing up in Sydney on Saturday, 16th March. Find all the details below.
Cog – ‘My Enemy’
According to Cog’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Flynn Gower, the delay in reissuing their music was due to a “deteriorated relationship” between the band and their former label Difrnt Music. They were “locked into a contract and waiting for resolution” for 15 years following the release of Sharing Space, said Gower.
“We can finally say that we now own the rights to all our music,” Gower confirmed in a press statement. “In celebration of this, and after many years of inquiries from our fans, we can announce that both The New Normal and Sharing Space are available on vinyl and an east coast tour is booked.”
The reissues were pressed by Rare Records on 180g vinyl and are available in a series of colour variants. They can be viewed and pre-ordered here. The tour, meanwhile, will feature Yomi Ship and Kodiak Empire as supports.
