PREMIERE: COG Unleash Epic New Single ‘Altered States’

COG have returned with their second new single since reuniting back in 2016, a mutating prog epic dubbed ‘Altered States’.

Well, it’s sort-of new! As guitarist Flynn Gower explains, the track was originally recorded during the Bondi progsters’ Sharing Space sessions 10 solid years ago, but never quite made the cut for the LP.

“Recently, whilst we were working on [first reunion single] ‘The Middle’, we stumbled upon this track that we’d written and recorded during the Sharing Space period. And it sounded pretty cool,” he tells Music Feeds.

“We remember playing it live a few times but it didn’t make the album cut,” he continues. “After hearing it again we thought it was a song worth releasing. Even if it’s a little late. So now that it’s been remixed and given the Forrester Seville treatment we present it you. COG. ‘Altered States’.”

You can check out ‘Altered States’ premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below, and lucky fans in WA and Canberra can catch the band touring regionally across May and June, in addition to their appearance at Queensland’s sold-out Big Pineapple Festival.
