It’s been six years since Fiona Apple last released an album, 2005’s Extraordinary Machine. With various tracks being leaked to various p2p networks prior to the release of that album, it’s easy to see why it took so long for her to want to return.
Since then, there has been minimal activity from her aside from the occasional rumour, and a duet in 2009 with Christophe Deluy.
However, it looks like we can expect something pretty soon, with Epic Records CEO, L.A. Reid tweeting today:

No announcement date has been set for the release, however we do know that it is coming within weeks.
