Celine Dion Spotted Greeting Fans in Paris Amidst Olympic Performance Rumors

Celine Dion was recently seen warmly greeting fans outside the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris. This sighting comes on the heels of exciting news from Variety magazine, which suggests that Dion will be performing at the Olympics Opening Ceremony this Friday.

According to TMZ, Dion is expected to sing one song at the grand event and will be compensated $2 million (£1.55 million) for her appearance. If these reports are accurate, it will mark Dion’s first public performance since she revealed her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis in December 2022.

Celine Dion Spotted Greeting Fans

In an interview with Vogue France in April, the Grammy-winning singer had expressed uncertainty about when she would return to live performances. “I can’t answer that… Because for four years I’ve been saying to myself that I’m not going back, that I’m ready, that I’m not ready,” Dion shared. She added, “As things stand, I can’t stand here and say to you: ‘Yes, in four months.’ I don’t know… My body will tell me. On the other hand, I don’t just want to wait.”

Despite her health challenges, Dion has been seen publicly several times recently. She made a notable appearance at the premiere of her Prime Video documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, at Alice Tully Hall in New York City. Additionally, on June 28, she was in Las Vegas to announce the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth-round draft pick at the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft.

Fans are eagerly awaiting to see if Dion will indeed perform at the Olympics and how her performance will be received.
