Knocked Loose Respond After TV Viewers Hate On Their Performance On Kimmel

ICYMI Knocked Loose recently appeared on US TV talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their hardcore belter ‘Suffocate’ live, with collaborator Poppy. And apparently, it scared the shit out of a lot of viewers.

Countless Kimmel fans, who are historically uninitiated with hardcore music, didn’t react very well to the screamy, pyrotechnic-filled performance filmed in front of an outdoor mosh pit, with some even “demanding an apology” from the show for exposing their ears to such a demonic display.

“That wasn’t singing, anyone can yell lyrics and get paid,” one viewer scoffed on social media, while another raged, “This what not enjoyable. And you can’t understand more than 5% of the lyrics. Moshing doesn’t not equal dancing.”

However, the heavy music community has been celebrating the watershed moment of heavy music being aired on US late-night network TV, and Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris is backing himself.

“You may have seen it already, you may have not,” he posted on social media. “I’ve been lucky enough that my timeline is flooded with so much support that I see it every time I open my phone. But I wanted a chance to post about it myself.”

He continued: “The other day Knocked Loose performed on @jimmykimmellive For a long time now our goal has been to see how far we could squeeze this band into places where we don’t fit and I think this may be the biggest one. National television. It feels like the ceiling gets higher for EVERYONE, every single day. We celebrate this together. Thank you so much.”

Garris then went on to reflect even more deeply on the milestone moment.

“Walking down the hallway as we were escorted to stage Im looking to my left and right and seeing photos of all the celebrities that have been on the show over the years,” he wrote. “Presidents, actors, musicians etc. I leaned over to @caasihale and said ‘this started in your garage’. He grabbed onto me and squeezed as hard as he could. That’s a moment I’ll never forget.”

Finally, he briefly turned his attention to the haters.

“PS if it scared you, good,” he concluded.
