The Spill Canvas Share Their Top 10 Emo Anthems Ahead Of Debut Aussie Tour

Emerging from the vast plains of South Dakota, emo mainstays The Spill Canvas are finally making their long-awaited debut on Aussie soil this week — joining forces with The Juliana Theory for a tour that promises way more than just a trip down memory lane. The pair’s imminent three-date East Coast romp is shaping up to be a full-blown celebration of two full decades of heartfelt music, featuring front-to-back album performances and, most importantly, a heartfelt connection between bands and fans.

For The Spill Canvas’s frontman Nick Thomas, this first trip down under marks more than just another tour stop — it’s a personal milestone. ‘’This is one country I never thought I would ever get to tour,” he tells Music Feeds.

The tour also commemorates major anniversaries for both bands: The Juliana Theory’s immense masterpiece Emotion Is Dead and The Spill Canvas’ landmark second release, One Fell Swoop.

“This being our first time in Australia, we’re beyond excited to finally connect with fans we’ve only known from afar,” Nick shares. “It’s going to be a true celebration—both bands playing the records that helped shape who we are.”

Reflecting on the past, he adds: “We toured with The Juliana Theory back in 2019, when Brett and Josh were doing a stripped-down acoustic set. That was a beautiful experience. But this time, it’s the full band in full rock mode—and it’s electric. They’re phenomenal live, and we’re pumped to team up again and make some noise across Australia.”

Having weathered their share of challenges, The Spill Canvas have remained a vital force for over 20 years—thanks to the fans who have kept the fire burning. Their songs—full of longing, loss, and emotional truth—have always struck a chord. With razor-sharp lyrics, melodic grit, and a deeply loyal following, The Spill Canvas continue to prove that their brand of emo still hits just as hard.

And to celebrate their imminent Aussie live debut, Music Feeds recruited the band to hit us with their top 10 noughties emo anthems. Cop their picks down below, or grab tickets to their forthcoming East Coast tour right here.
