The first single from the internationally acclaimed album A Different Ship (out now on Secret Canadian through Inertia) titled How Do I Know has landed on YouTube.
Directed by Sean Pecknold (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Grizzly Bear), the video stars Janet Pants as a happy-go-lucky dancing robot who is being returned to the factory following an argument between her owner and his wife. The underlying themes of the clip are far from simple with Pecknold choosing to interpret creatively a not-too-distant future where technology causes conflicts amongst humans, in his own words: “Humans, love, sex, technology, dancing, the future!”
Pecknold first heard about the band while on his way back from the famous Joshua Tree, when his brother, who had access to the then yet-to-be released album, did the ol’ “You have to hear this song”.
