Organisers behind Meredith Music Festival have today announced the 2012 lineup early and there is something, or even a few somethings, for everyone.
Headlining the three-day event will be two seminal psychedelic Brit outfits, Primal Scream and Spiritualized, both bringing their transcendental live performance to the main stages of the fest. Joining them on the top end of the bill will be Four Tet, whose ability to see through genres as well as avoid pigeonholing has seen his name appear on not only his own 7 albums, but many of his peers releases too and the always trashy, dirty and sleazy euro metallers Turbonegro.
The legendary Sunnyboys and the soon-to-be legendary (give em a couple more years to appreciate) Regurgitator will be adding some nice Australian flare to the mix and the ever-popular Grimes, a huge crowd favourite addition to the lineup if you were to believe all the festival rumours (almost all of which mention her.)
The Meredith Sky Show will add that extra element to the event, crazy light show and all that, and the City of Ballarat Municipal Brass Band will be there to keep things classy.
This year’s event is BYO and tickets will put you back around $279+bf. The ‘No Dickheads Policy’ is also a major pulling point as dickhead-free zones are rare these days. Round 1 of the ticket ballots was drawn today so check those inboxes people! For round two, register here before 10pm, Tuesday, August 21. Those results will be drawn August 23.
More acts will also be announced in the coming weeks.
