Apple have started the countdown to their next media event, which, as anyone in the know would understand, means some kind of new gadget is very likely to be released upon us. This time around it appears it will be a new iPhone, and unlike the last update which brought an upgraded version on the iPhone 4 (the iPhone 4s) we’ll finally see the iPhone 5 released.
According to macrumours, the new phone will get a new two-tone unibody design, 4G LTE, and a larger display (along the lines of what’s found on newer Android phones). But probably the most controversial new feature will be the new dock connector, which ends generations of iPod and iPhone docking device compatibilities.
New iPod’s are also thought to be released at the same time, updating their three product lines: the shuffle, nano and touch. The event will be held on 12th September at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco 10am PST (so roughly sometime in the early hours of the 13th in Australia). The tagline on the event is “It’s almost here”.
