Two of the most exciting self-initiated cultural projects in Sydney have teamed up for what promises to be a really exciting month of storytelling and live radio-making.
All The Best (ATB) spins yarns of Sydney’s people, history and places, broadcasting on FBi radio on Saturday mornings.
Meanwhile, The Paper Mill, in Angel Place, has been brightening the shadowy CBD alleyways with paper-based art shows for about two years now.
Here’s the lowdown from the ATB team:
“ATB has just begun a month long residency at The Paper Mill. Bringing together radio producers, performers, writers and musicians Adam Connelly, Jesse Cox, Nick Coyle, Madeleine James, Tim Jenkins, Zoe Norton Lodge, Eddie Sharp, Mike Williams & Adam Zwi. The team will put on a live performance of a very special hour-long radio feature. There is also a story slam night as part of the residency. Two events not to be missed. Here are the dates for your diary:
“Tuesday November 8 – Story Slam
Join a bunch of Sydney writers and performers as they share their stories of The Last Stand. Earlybirds can register for an open mic session to share their own tale. 6-8pm. Here’s the Facey event.
“Friday November 11 – ‘The Last Stand’ performed live (presented in association with In the Dark)
A night not to be missed. Blending radio, theatre and storytelling; stories will be performed live with accompanying music. Plus get there early to see the residency show 6-9pm. The Last Stand begins at 8pm sharp.”
