Melbourne indie five-piece Batz are back on their grind, today unleashing an absolute jam dubbed ‘Wizard’.
Charming, rambunctious, punk-tinged and irresistible danceable, ‘Wizard’ feels like the millennial love child of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The B-52’s, so, yeah, you know it’s a good time.
The band once again worked with Alex Markwell (The Delta Riggs) on the production of this release, which marks their gate-storming entrance to 2019.
“‘Wizard’ felt like the right kind of song for BATZ, at the right time,” explains frontwoman Chrissy Aubry. “We are known for our frantic goth/punk side but we wanted to show that we are versatile in our sound. Evolving. ‘Wizard’ gives a nod to the classic indie period, it’s a fun dancey track. It’s about a dream I had about being a wizard and coming from another planet, landing on Earth at some crazy house party. It’s all vibes. Good vibes.”
