PREMIERE: Sydney’s Taylor B-W Fuses R&B And Reggaeton On ‘In Ur Net’

‘In Ur Net’ is the latest single from Sydney indie R&B artist, Taylor B-W. ‘In Ur Net’ is officially coming out this Friday, 11th March. We’re premiering it here on Music Feeds.

Taylor B-W is a Sydney-born, Kiwi singer-songwriter and avowed ’90s music tragic. The influence of ’90s and ’00s R&B artists such as Mary J. Blige, TLC and Destiny’s Child is apparent on Taylor’s recent singles ‘I’m So Broke’ and ‘Nunchucks’. However, Taylor also cites contemporary acts Halsey, Kimbra, Little Dragon, Banks, The Weeknd and Vera Blue as influences.

For ‘In Ur Net’, Taylor drew influence from reggaeton stars like J Balvin and Daddy Yankee, incorporating these sounds into a dance-oriented pop song.

“Like most of my songs, ‘In Ur Net’ is a fun, danceable pop song on face value,” Taylor said in a statement. “However, behind the shininess, I delve into something deeper. This song is my take on how obsession and desire for someone can transform into delusion and mania.”

Taylor wrote ‘In Ur Net’ for anyone who has “experienced an uncontrollable obsession and lust for someone who they know doesn’t deserve them.” She added, “It’s like you are stuck in deep water, trying to swim up to the surface, but something keeps sucking you deeper and deeper, giving you tunnel vision.”

Taylor B-W is playing a free show at Coopers Hotel in Newtown, Sydney, on Friday, 8th April. Listen to ‘In Ur Net’ below.
