PREMIERE: Listen To Tom Myers’ Floaty Debut Single ‘The Great Unknown’

We’ve been blessed today with a premiere for Tom Myers’ debut single. The single boasts a steady, dependent beat behind shimmery instrumentals, while Myers’ voice creates a floaty, dreamy track.

The debut single is the first of a bunch of unreleased tracks we can expect to hear soon, which were, pretty impressively written and demoed in DIY hotel rooms during an 18-month tour.

Tom Myers is a brand new solo project for Myers who previously played in Sydney band, Papa vs Pretty. On ‘The Great Unknown’, Tom Myers’ ex-bandmate from Papa vs Pretty, Gus Gardiner (bass, piano) lends a hand too. As well as Gardiner, PvP’s frontman Thomas Rawle helped deliver ‘The Great Unknown’s animated film clip.

The wildly aesthetic, trippy AF clip follows a fox on an adventure into the light.

“It’s a really beautifully captured analogy for being able to focus in on the light at the end of a tunnel, despite the difficulties. The narrative was always evolving but I’m so happy to have something that compliments the song like Thomas’ video. ”

Tom Myers has also played drummer in the touring bands for artists like Jack River, Thelma Plum, and Kim Churchill.
