As they zig-zag their way across North America in support of peers Foals, we caught up with Surfer Blood ahead of their Splendour In The Grass performance and right after the release of their sophomore album Pythons. There was truly no better moment to chat with bassist Kevin Williams for the latest instalment of our Splendour In The Grass podcast series.
Having amassed support through their debut album Astro Coast, there was a lot riding on the back of Pythons. As Williams explains, the band left no stone unturned in the pursuit of an amazing album, a process that had the band travelling to all sorts of studios as they recorded under the supervision of legendary producer Gil Norton. Williams told us a bit about how much control Norton was given, and how the final product speaks for itself.
Everything going to plan, the band will be arriving Down Under a day early to take in all the sights before show time. Williams ticked off his bucket list for when they have down time at the festival and his thoughts on this mysterious Mystery Band.
